The rule, in plain English
A neutral Spanish statement often follows subject + verb + object, but verb endings make word order more flexible than in English. The subject pronoun can usually be omitted when the ending or context identifies it. Neutral descriptive adjectives normally follow the noun. Yes/no questions do not use an extra verb like English do or does: Spanish uses question marks, intonation, and sometimes a change in word order. In questions with an interrogative, verb + stated subject is common, as in ¿Dónde vive Ana?
Why it's hard for English speakers
English relies heavily on fixed word order and helper verbs. Spanish asks you to trust conjugated endings, recognise an unstated subject, and accept more than one possible order depending on focus and context. Flexible does not mean random: subject + verb + object is still a useful neutral starting point.
